General Tomasz Drewniak, former Inspector of the Polish Air Force, explained why the military did not shoot down the object that fell in Tarnawa Kolonia. If fighter jets were not already airborne when the airspace was violated, their response time is up to 30 minutes — but the object came down just 6 minutes after crossing the border. The general said this left no time for interception.
