Polish pensioners who worked just days get near-zero ZUS payouts
In Poland, anyone who reaches retirement age can apply for a state pension from ZUS regardless of how little they contributed. The pension is calculated based on length of service and total contributions, meaning people who worked as little as 17 days or under a month receive near-zero payouts worth almost nothing.
