Guterres Proposes Fresh Push to Reunify Cyprus; Turkey Cautious

UN Secretary-General António Guterres on Wednesday proposed new steps to break the long-standing deadlock over Cyprus's status. Since 1974, the northern part of the island has been controlled by Turkey, while the Greek Cypriot south — the Republic of Cyprus — is an EU member state.
