NASA's Roman Space Telescope set to launch Aug. 30 — nine months ahead of schedule

NASA's $4 billion Nancy Grace Roman Space Telescope is scheduled to launch aboard a SpaceX rocket on August 30 at 7:26 a.m. EDT, nine months ahead of schedule. NASA scientists shared a status update on July 29, confirming the observatory is ready. Roman is set to join the ranks of the Hubble and James Webb space telescopes and will enable observations currently impossible with existing instruments.
