Skyrim username typo cost innocent man 18 months in prison

Brandon Klayme of Nova Scotia, Canada, was wrongfully convicted of child pornography charges in 2023 and spent 18 months in prison. The error came down to a single missing underscore in a Skyrim-related username, which caused investigators to misidentify him. A court finally declared him innocent in late July.
