Chad withdraws from the International Criminal Court

Chad announced its withdrawal from the Rome Statute and thus from the International Criminal Court. In an official statement, the government criticised the ICC for alleged bias, noting that most of its investigations have focused on Africa. Chad joins several other Sahel-region countries that have previously made the same move.
