Digitally controlled silicon quantum processor achieves high-fidelity multiqubit circuits

Researchers demonstrated a silicon quantum processing unit that executes high-fidelity multiqubit circuits, with all time-varying control signals generated by a digitally programmed cryogenic CMOS controller. The signals are delivered to a low-noise, exchange-only qubit device through a high-density superconducting ribbon cable. The study was published in Nature on 29 July 2026.
