Lobbyists gutted short-term rental rules — Tusk scrambles to respond

Prime Minister Donald Tusk mobilised his ministers to revive short-term rental regulations only after media reports revealed that industry lobbyists had effectively neutered the planned rules. Kraków and Warsaw have meanwhile surpassed Barcelona and Madrid in growth of short-term rental bookings on platforms such as Airbnb. The regulations were meant to protect long-term tenants and curb soaring rents in major Polish cities.
