Finland to cut last fibre-optic data link with Russia from next year

Finnish grid operator Fingrid announced on Wednesday that the lease agreement for the fibre-optic data cable between Finland and Russia will expire and will not be renewed. Starting next year, Russia will lose another connection to the West, after Finland previously cut electricity supplies. The move deepens Russia's digital isolation from Europe.
