Finland to cut fibre-optic cables carrying up to 70% of Russia's foreign internet traffic
Finland currently carries up to 70% of Russia's foreign internet traffic through its territory. Starting next year, Helsinki will cease handling that traffic: fibre-optic cables will be physically cut and the energy towers supporting the infrastructure dismantled. The move is one of the most significant infrastructure steps taken against Russia's international connectivity.
