Canada tops foreign homebuyers in the US as international sales hit near-record low

International buyers purchased roughly 67,000 U.S. homes in the 12 months ending in March, a near-record low, according to the National Association of Realtors. Despite the overall slump in foreign purchases, Canada leads all countries in U.S. home buying. High prices, a strong dollar and geopolitical uncertainty are cited as key factors dampening international demand.
