FAA restores Boeing's right to self-certify its aircraft safety
The U.S. Federal Aviation Administration has restored Boeing's authority to self-certify the airworthiness of its planes. The manufacturer lost the privilege following several high-profile crashes that triggered intensified regulatory oversight. The FAA now says Boeing has re-earned its trust and can once again conduct its own safety assessments.
