Online scams cost Americans nearly $150B last year – 7x more than FBI reports

The Consumer Federation of America estimates that online scams cost Americans nearly $150 billion last year, seven times the amount reported to the FBI. The organisation warns that the number of cyber scams is rising dramatically and that most victims never report their losses to law enforcement, meaning the true scale of the problem is vastly underestimated.
