Glen Hansard dies at 56 in motorcycle crash in Dublin

Glen Hansard, the Oscar-winning Irish singer-songwriter and actor, has died in a single-vehicle motorcycle crash in west Dublin, reported to emergency services shortly before 4:30 a.m. local time. He was 56. Hansard won the Academy Award for Best Original Song for "Falling Slowly" from the film "Once" and was the frontman of Irish band the Frames, as well as an actor in "The Commitments."
