Japan earthquake: at least 18 dead, survivors sought in damaged mall and factory

A powerful earthquake in southern Japan has killed at least 18 people. Five victims died in a damaged factory and at least 13 in a shopping mall, where search operations are still ongoing. The quake flattened homes, triggered fires, ruptured bridges and left thousands without power.
