Camels dying from heat as African temperatures exceed 50°C

Farmers, vets and scientists across Africa are recording increasing numbers of camels suffering from overheating, dehydration, illness and death during heatwaves topping 50°C. Although camels are naturally adapted to hot, arid climates, researchers say their biological limits are being exceeded. Milk production has also dropped and disease rates among the animals are rising.
