Data Centres Face Deposits of Up to £712,500 per Megawatt for Grid Connection
The UK regulator has proposed that data centres pay deposits of between £237,500 and £712,500 per megawatt for upcoming projects, in response to surging electricity demand from the sector. The fee is intended to manage the strain that large data centre developments place on the power grid. The proposal covers new, upcoming projects.
