Wildfires ravage Portugal and Greece — nearly 1,000 firefighters deployed

Nearly a thousand firefighters are battling three large forest and grassland fires in northern Portugal. The Greek island of Paros is also fighting wildfires, while Spain is experiencing its fourth heatwave of the season, further raising fire risk across the Mediterranean region.
