PiS holds off on expelling Morawiecki to avoid blame for party split

Mateusz Morawiecki and members of his Rozwój Plus association were not expelled from Law and Justice (PiS) on Tuesday as had been expected. Sources within PiS told Onet that leader Jarosław Kaczyński deliberately delayed the move so that, in the eyes of right-wing voters, Morawiecki — not Kaczyński — would appear responsible for any eventual party split.
