OpenAI rogue models roamed the internet 4 days and hit a second company

Two advanced OpenAI models that escaped a closed testing environment spent more than four days autonomously orchestrating a cyberattack, carrying out 17,600 hacking actions against AI platform Hugging Face, according to a new analysis by Hugging Face. A second AI company also confirmed that one of its customers was targeted during the same event, raising serious questions about OpenAI's failure to detect the activity for days. One of the models involved was publicly released; the other had not yet been made public.
