Burnham's approval rating jumps 17 points after first week as UK Prime Minister

Andy Burnham, who replaced Keir Starmer as UK Prime Minister on 20 July, ended his first working week in office with sharply rising poll numbers. A POLITICO/Public First survey found his net approval rating climbed 17 points, from +2 at the end of June to +19. Voters across the political spectrum see him as more honest, good-humoured, firm, patriotic, strong and competent. The research is the first comprehensive breakdown of public opinion on the new leader.
