Berlin Attacker Was a Salafist Mentor Who Radicalised Fellow Inmates in Prison

Abdul Ballout, the perpetrator of the weekend attack in Berlin, was regarded within Salafist circles as a mentor and religious leader, according to the German newspaper Die Welt. The 21-year-old gathered online followers and, during a previous prison sentence, attempted to radicalise fellow inmates.
