Thieves at motorway rest stops distract drivers and loot their cars

Germany's ACE motoring club has warned of a wave of thefts at motorway rest stops, a threat also relevant for travellers in Poland during the holiday season. Thieves work in teams: one engages the driver in conversation while accomplices search the unattended vehicle for cash and valuables. Experts advise never leaving luggage visible inside a car and staying alert at all rest stops.
