Apple hits $5 trillion valuation — only second company ever to reach the milestone

Apple became only the second company in history to surpass a $5 trillion market capitalisation, with shares hitting a session high of $342.89 on Tuesday, giving it a valuation of $5.04 trillion. The rally was driven by strong product demand and Apple's decision to hold back from the AI spending race, as investors rotated out of AI and semiconductor stocks. Shares later eased back to around the $4.99 trillion mark.
