Apple won't restrict device features for missed lease payments in Upgrade program
Apple has confirmed that devices leased through its new Upgrade program will not have their features restricted if a user misses a payment. Spokesperson Brian Bumbery told The Verge there will be no "restricted mode" or any limitations on device functionality due to missed payments or default. The statement dispels concerns about Apple remotely disabling leased hardware.
