Geneva to host world chess championship: Gukesh vs. Sindarov in November
FIDE has announced that this year's world chess championship will be held in Geneva from 25 November to 15 December, Switzerland's first hosting since 2004. Reigning champion Gukesh Dommaraju of India will defend his title against Uzbekistan's Javokhir Sindarov in a best-of-14-games match. Both players will be 20 at the start, making it the youngest world championship encounter since the title was first contested in 1886.
