EU AI Act enforcement begins 2 August – fines up to €15 million for hidden AI content
From 2 August, the European Commission will begin enforcing AI Act transparency rules, including the requirement to properly label AI-generated content. Commission spokesperson Thomas Regnier described the date as an "important deadline." Companies that conceal the use of artificial intelligence in their products face fines of up to €15 million. The rules apply to all firms operating in the EU market.
