Polish man from Kraków arrested for desecrating Virgin Mary statue in Medjugorje
The statue of the Virgin Mary in Medjugorje, Bosnia and Herzegovina, was doused in black paint and covered with inscriptions, including the phrase "devil in a skirt" in Polish and English. A nearby outdoor altar of the Church of St. James was set on fire, and a banner accusing those linked to the apparitions of fraud was hung on a fence. The suspect, a Polish citizen from Kraków, has been arrested by local authorities.
