Two US Carriers Stay in Middle East as Naval Blockade Enters Second Week

USS Abraham Lincoln and USS George H.W. Bush remain on station in the CENTCOM area of responsibility to support maritime security and stability in the Middle East. Since reinstating the naval blockade on July 14, CENTCOM has redirected 17 commercial vessels, disabled two kinetically, and boarded two more to ensure compliance. The US airstrike campaign is currently on pause, but the blockade is now entering its second week in full effect.
