Could Poland block Ukraine's EU accession over Volhynia and farm disputes?
The EU has opened a new chapter in accession negotiations with Ukraine, but membership requires the unanimous approval of all 27 member states. Poland could play a pivotal role — either supporting Kyiv or blocking its path if unresolved disputes over the Volhynia massacre, agricultural competition and anti-Ukrainian political sentiment are used as leverage.
