Scanned documents to gain legal force of originals under new Polish law

The Polish government has adopted an amendment to the law on the national archival holdings, which will give scanned documents the same legal force as originals. The change aims to streamline the handling of cases in electronic form and reduce the circulation of paper documents in public offices. The new regulations will also formally authorise educational activities carried out by archives.
