Medjugorje vandalism: statue of Virgin Mary destroyed, altar set on fire

During the night of 27–28 July, vandals destroyed a statue of the Virgin Mary and set fire to a field altar on the Hill of Apparitions in Medjugorje. The HNC Police Commissioner's office said a suspect has been identified in connection with the act of vandalism.
