Church defends priest-brother of deputy minister: Łódź apartment purchase was legal
Father Dariusz Raś, brother of Deputy Minister of Sport Ireneusz Raś, purchased two micro-apartments in Łódź from the minister and rents them out on a long-term basis. The diocesan curia issued a statement saying the transaction was fully legal and required no approval from the priest's superiors. Church authorities found no violation of canon law. The case has sparked controversy because Deputy Minister Raś co-authored a prominent piece of housing legislation.
