Putin raises army size to 2.43 million — sixth increase since Ukraine invasion

Vladimir Putin signed a decree raising the approved size of the Russian armed forces to 2,426,130 personnel. This is the sixth such decision since the start of the invasion of Ukraine. The repeated increases signal continued expansion of Russia's military mobilisation capacity.
