Lebanon tightens control over Hezbollah smuggling routes, cutting Iran cash flows
Since the election of President Joseph Aoun in January last year and the formation of Nawaf Salam's government, Lebanese authorities have been working to reassert state control over airports, seaports and land border crossings. According to Arab News, these measures are aimed at curbing Hezbollah's smuggling routes and cutting off cash flows from Iran.
