Polish Constitutional Tribunal strikes down gender transcription regulation
Poland's Constitutional Tribunal issued a ruling undermining the legal status of a regulation on gender transcription that had given many people assurance of dignified treatment by public authorities. Minister of Digitisation Krzysztof Gawkowski said TK president Święczkowski "is throwing the chance for dignity in the bin." PiS MP Przemysław Czarnek defended the ruling, saying "the Polish Constitution cannot be bypassed, nor can family law be changed through the back door."
