IPN investigates if psychiatric patients in Lubliniec were poisoned with barbiturates in WWII

A cemetery near a former psychiatric hospital in Lubliniec holds over 1,500 burials, and IPN (Institute of National Remembrance) has been conducting exhumations there. Investigators want to determine whether patients — including children — were poisoned with barbiturates and starved during the German occupation. IPN's Adam Kondracki stated that during World War II, the facility saw an estimated at least seven times more deaths than in the pre-war period.
