Jedwabne still divides: sociologist on Poland's losing battle over memory

Sociologist and cultural anthropologist Agnieszka Haska responds to an OKO.press report from Jedwabne, diagnosing a growing wave of denial surrounding the wartime killing of Jews by their Polish neighbours. Haska argues that even rigorous academic research and IPN investigations cannot break through the wall of hatred and public lies. She warns that Poland is losing the battle for honest historical memory as antisemitism and historical revisionism intensify.
