Chilean recluse spider spotted in Portugal — its venom causes necrotic wounds

Several specimens of the Chilean recluse spider have been spotted near the city of Porto in northern Portugal, according to local biologists. The species is considered dangerous because its venom can cause necrotising skin wounds. The finding was reported by the Polish Press Agency.
