Hepatitis C curable in 8–12 weeks, but most infected don't know they have it
Hepatitis C can now be cured in 8 to 12 weeks with a success rate above 95%, even in patients with cirrhosis, cancer, HIV or transplant history. The main obstacle is late diagnosis: most infected people, typically aged 30–50, are unaware of the illness for years and never seek treatment.
