Patient Rights Ombudsman: 30-year-old Patrycja's rights violated — she waited hours for transfer after stroke
Poland's Patient Rights Ombudsman ruled that the rights of 30-year-old Patrycja Augustyn were violated after she waited many hours for transfer to a specialist hospital following a haemorrhagic stroke and subsequently died. The decision cites serious organisational failures, including errors in organising medical transport and coordinating treatment. Prosecutors are also conducting two separate investigations into the case.
