Magnitude 7.1 earthquake hits Japan's Kumamoto, tsunami alert issued

A magnitude 7.1 earthquake struck Kumamoto prefecture in south-west Japan, injuring several people and briefly triggering a tsunami alert. The tsunami warning was lifted shortly after it was issued, but the quake caused localised damage in the region.
