Fuel Prices Rise in Poland — PiS Pushes VAT Cut, Tusk Threatens Price Controls

PiS lawmakers called on Tuesday for a vote on their bill to cut VAT and excise duty on fuel amid rising prices at petrol stations. Prime Minister Donald Tusk announced that if oil prices rise again, the government may introduce regulated fuel prices for the last two weeks of the summer holidays. The two parties are proposing rival solutions to the same problem.
