Patient Rights Ombudsman investigates clauses restricting specialist referrals

Poland's Patient Rights Ombudsman has launched proceedings against healthcare providers that include clauses in doctors' contracts restricting referrals to specialists or facilities outside their own network. The practice may violate collective patient rights. The investigation targets chain psychiatric clinics that critics have dubbed "psychiatric Biedronkas."
