Linette beats Fernandez in Washington, Navarro crushes Kenin 6:0 in first set

Magda Linette defeated defending champion Leylah Fernandez in the first round of the WTA 500 tournament in Washington in just over an hour. Emma Navarro — who recently beat Iga Świątek — then took the court against Sofia Kenin. Navarro won the first set 6:0, with Kenin failing to take a single game, and also secured revenge for a loss to Kenin in San Diego three years ago.
