Lake Balaton at risk of drying out as droughts and heatwaves lower water level

Lake Balaton in Hungary, long a favourite destination for Polish tourists, is facing a serious environmental threat. Prolonged droughts and extreme heatwaves are causing the water level to drop dangerously. There are growing fears that the lake could eventually dry out completely.
