Bundeswehr orders 56 Rheinmetall Elefant 2 heavy tractors for €60.5 million

German defence company Rheinmetall AG has announced a new order for 56 additional Elefant 2 heavy tractor units for the Bundeswehr, capable of carrying loads up to 70 tonnes. The vehicles will be delivered by Rheinmetall MAN Military Vehicles (RMMV) between 2026 and 2027. The contract is valued at approximately €60.5 million gross.
