Pentagon reviews US troop presence in Europe – Poland expected to be exempt
US Deputy Secretary of Defense Elbridge Colby has announced a formal review of American military presence in Europe, aimed at shifting defence responsibility to European nations. The review was previously signalled by Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth. However, Poland's National Security Bureau chief Bartosz Grodecki, following a meeting with Colby in July, stated that the US military presence in Poland will be strengthened rather than reduced.
