Reynolds Walked Comic-Con in Secret Deadpool Costume, Surprised Fans

Ryan Reynolds shocked fans during San Diego Comic-Con 2026 when he revealed during the Marvel Studios panel that he had been walking around the convention in a grey-and-blue Deadpool costume... and that he wasn't just a cosplayer with an extra-impressive suit.

As it turns out, Reynolds had been taking photos with fans all day ahead of the panel... and no one knew. "The fans got Deadpool off the ground so many years ago," Reynolds wrote on Twitter alongside a video montage of him meeting fans. "Yesterday, 10 years after the first film and exactly 2 years after Deadpool & Wolverine, I felt so lucky to be on the #SDCC floor with everyone whose unapologetic devotion brings so much joy to this world." "No handlers, no security, no ropes. WHAT A GIFT," he continued. "Thanks to everyone I met, who aren’t only cosplaying but world-building. And also… actual Sergeant Slaughter!"

At the panel itself, Reynolds showed up in costume to ask: " W hy was Thor crying ?" This, of course, is in reference to the weird Deadpool and Wolverine scene in the TVA that shows Thor crying on a screen. Is it from a future Avengers movie? We have no idea. Neither did any of the Avengers on stage at the panel, including Paul Rudd, who replied, "He's a Wrexham fan?"

There was no word as to whether Deadpool would be in Avengers: Doomsday, nor did we get an update on a potential Deadpool 4. Though, maybe Thor was crying because he didn't get a photo with undercover Ryan Reynolds at San Diego Comic-Con.
