French customs held a Chagall etching for 20 years after border seizure — now it goes on display

French customs authorities held a Marc Chagall etching for two decades after it was seized during an attempted illegal border crossing. The work depicts an acrobat perched on a violin, drawing on the Russian artist's signature motifs. The piece will now go on public display.
